Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister O Ibobi demanding to take up necessary action and bring an acceptable solution within 24 hours on injuring of four innocent lumbermen by security forces following a shoot-out at Khundong village on May 1. Demanding adequate compensation for the victims undergoing treatment at Shija Hospitals, the memorandum also pressed the CM for stringent actions against the involved security personnel. The memorandum further warned that failure to comply with the demands would invite imposition of statewide bandh and other intense agitations. The memorandum said that the victims, Manggou Haokip (19) of Kangchup Awlmum village (handyman), Seilen Haokip (35) of K Songlung village (truck driver), Majakamang of Nurathel Tabam village and Chaotombi (37) of Maklang (truck driver) were picked up by security men after the shoot-out and herded them towards Khundong village. They were then shot at near village church, the memorandum said.
