PLA celebrates 31st raising day anniv.

MPHAL, Sep 26: The 31st raising day of the proscribed PLA, the armed wing of RPF was reportedly celebrated yesterday. According to a statement issued by the chief of department of publicity of the outfit GM Changjou, the main celebration was held at PLA GHQ. Reading out the messages of RPF president, CAS and the addresses of the senior officers of PLA were the main highlights of the function which commenced along with unfurling of the party’s flag.
Afterward, PLA cadres interacted with the villagers settling around the GHQ partaking in a simple feasting and exchanging gifts, the statement said, while informing that similar celebrations were also held in the other unit HQs of PLA. Changjou further said that the 31st raising day celebration of PLA was done in a low key manner in con-sideration of the prevailing situation in Manipur.
Unlike in the past, RPF had not made any appeal to the people to participate in the celebration, yet many people responded and came forward to take part in the celebration, Changjou said, adding that reports of social service camps, symposium, debate, flag and festoon hoisting programme organised by the people in their respective locality vo-luntarily to mark the occasion has given new strength to RPF and its armed wing PLA.
