Pettigrew college griev-ances TKS toughens pose

IMPHAL, Mar 12 : In case the ongoing agitation of the Students’ Union of Pettigrew College to seal Government offices in the district fails to evoke any positive response from the Government
and the students’
demands are not fulfilled before the commencement of the forthcoming academic session, the Tangkhul Katamnao Shaklong is ready to launch more intense forms of agitation. Talking to The Sangai Express, TKS president Jordan asserted that the demand of the students to post 13 teachers lacking in the only college of Ukhrul district is legitimate and ought to be fulfilled without any delay. The college should be upgraded with faculties for BSc (Maths) and BSc (Physics). Moreover, the Departments of Geography, Education and Sociology should also be opened in Pettigrew College.
The TKS further demanded the Education Minister to give a written assurance that the demands of the students will be fulfilled before commencement of the forthcoming academic session.
