IMPHAL, May 5: Stepping up counter insurgency, Commandos of Thoubal District Police have reportedly arrested two underground activists from different parts of the district today.
According to a state-ment issued by Additional SP of Thoubal Jogeschan-dra Haobijam, on receipt of reliable information about the presence of UGs in the general area of Wabagai, Commandos of Thoubal District Police conducted a search operation.
During the course of the operation at around 6.30 am, one cadre of KYKL later identified as Yengkhom Pocha alias James (23) s/o Y Kameshwor of Wabagai Terapishak was arrested.
On requesting, Pocha disclosed that he is an active member of KYKL and trained in the year 2008 and his army no. is 21.
The Additional SP fur-ther informed that at around 2.30 pm today one cadre of KCP identified as Md Jahi-ruddin alias Sanayai (33) s/o Md Abdul Rashid of Keibung Mayai Leikai was also arrested by Thoubal Police Commandos during frisking and checking at Yairipok-Imphal Road at Angtha.
