MPHAL, Sep 11: Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Imphal has appealed
to all the Kuki community in Imphal to observe September 13 as Black
Day (Sahnit Ni) as usual in remembrance of the departed souls who
sacrificed their lives for the protection of their villages and hands
during the NSCN (IM) led ethnic cleansing drive of the last decade.
In a statement, general secretary of the student body Seiboi Haokip
appealed to the people to hoist black flag in every households to show solidarity and observed the day as Day of Prayer to Almighty God to
restore normalcy and rehabilitation of the displaced Kuki people on
their own land, unity within the community, restoration of peace and
integrity and mutual respect among different communities.
