Bandh threat
IMPHAL, Jul 5: Demanding payment of back log wages/salaries of the teachers of aided elementary schools by July 7, the All Manipur Aided Elementary School Teachers Association (Hills and Valley) has threatened to impose a 48 hours general strike with effect from midnight of July 8. A press release issued by the Association urged upon the State Govt to appoint a Director who will be able to discharge his/her duty efficiently and able to understand the concerns and grievances of teachers. Citing release of salaries for teachers of Govt schools even as compilation of MGEL is not completed, the elementary teachers deman -ded that their due salaries till May this year be released immediately.
